I have deadline requests for the maps. Apparently we're the only two capable of translating the world around us into two dimensions and recording it on paper or leather.

[ his lips twist into something resembling a scowl and a frown when he receives her message - his sister has taken the initiative to contact him, and it means something that softens him minutely. she's been in his thoughts the moment the downpour started, and it's been making him moody, truth be told. being cooped up isn't helping.

Surely a man like yourself can empathize rather than sympathize? The common masses can learn patience with demand greatly outweighs the supply. I told them I'd have to discuss the timeline of production with my conspirator on the matter.
I am tired and often wet, but that's a near constant here, especially these days. I crafted several 'umbrellas,' with fronds, but they're a band-aid on a limb with gangrene for as much good as they do.
Though, I do have a goal to fix the plumbing now that there's sufficient pressure head to push water through the system.

Speaking of, I am disappointed to hear your fronds failed. I'm sure someone with appropriate skills could craft you something sturdier. [ he probably could ok ] Fortunately I've spent most of my time inside to avoid the downpour so I've had little need of umbrellas.
If those other impressive pursuits don't take up much of your time, we should get started on those maps. I've already treated some canvas for our purpose. I suggest some exploration is in order once the rain lets up.

To be fair, basket weaving has been a recently acquired skill. I'm much more comfortable with welding and working in a machine shop. Point me in the direction of said someone with appropriate skills, and I'll line up a request.
You're lucky. I've been up to check on my garden, feed the hares and shelter them from the rain a bit better, and fulfill a few other tasks that arose on my To Do Lists. Luckily I anticipated the atmosphere changing to provide actual weather quite some time ago, and built a quaint, functional fireplace that vents smoke out of our home. I'd like not to catch a cold, or worse, in this place.

[It takes her a few days and really, staying with Rebekah has been nice. It's been easy to just hide with her and not think about how to tell Klaus about what happened. She hasn't had to think about it. Hasn't had to think about how much it hurts to be without her daughter.

[ klaus hasn't had the luxury of not thinking about his daughter, or of hayley, of elijah. of course, he's found himself distractions and imperatives to see to while he's here. (and all for them.) he's compelled informants and staged attempts at garnering information. he's made tentative friends and kept tabs on their enemies. he's spent every waking moment putting on a smile and a charade in the hope and fear of this very moment.
